The band consists of chris thile (mandolin), gabe witcher (fiddle/violin), noam pikelny (banjo), chris eldridge (guitar), and paul kowert (bass). They stood in a circle, facing one another, and made music together. In 2009, the band began a residency at nyc’s intimate lower east side club the living room, ultimately spawning antifogmatic (2010).
